It was ... not bad. Okay. Well, it was all right, to be fair. They did chop the book, but not as badly as I'd feared. Mostly.

The characters were a little flat and disappointing, except for like the main ones - Lyra, Mrs. Coulter, Iorek and Pan...
It was allllll worth it for Lee Scoresby, though. I couldn't imagine a more perfect Scoresby than ~~my dad~~ Sam Elliot. So much love.

HOWEVER now this brings up an interesting thing, I know I can't possibly be the first to think of this. The Daemons in the movie - the dumbed down explanation is that they are basically talking animals that are representations AND counterparts to one's self; one soul in two bodies.
